Oh yes, might I add, for my stagette a few years back, she made me dress like a bunch of grapes - purple tank top covered in purple balloons. (Our group of ladies was doing a series of wine tours, so I guess that's how that idea came about). Hmmm... little does she realize that that tables will turn when it is her turn and I get to plan these events!!! Mwahahahaha....
Anyhoo, one of the fun things everyone got to do was to personalize a blank onesie for Bun... such a cute and crafty idea! Here is shot of a few of them. Thanks to all the ladies who came and made it such a fun time!
Ok, so 11 weeks to go... as well as another shower (the big family one) which in asian tradition will be held a month or two post-birth. It's now dawning on me that the little Bun is going to be here soon! Eeeeep!
Bun is going to be precious in those onesies.
ReplyDeleteThe pear outfit sounds funny and adorable, only sisters can get us to do such things. :)
Sounds like it was a really fun baby shower! And just the idea of how you say you were dressed is hilarious! :)
ReplyDeleteThe personalized onesies are SO cute! Sounds like a FUN shower :) YAY!
ReplyDeletevery cute idea, I wish that I had had control over my shower (and that I wasn't so bloated up that all I was allowed to do by my Mom and Aunt was put my feet up) I'd have been making everyone paint onesies.
ReplyDeleteYou'll want to keep these once the bun's too big for them; sewing them together to make a quilt or a wall hanging... of course you'll want to employ the use of a bib so that they don't stain.
So exciting!!
ReplyDeleteI love the onesie idea!
Your sister is hilarious....thinking she has a strange connection with you and various fruits. (Did you torture her her with them when you were kids?;)
Wishing you the best! xo
How fun! wish my daughter didn't live out of town, a baby shower would have been nice! I wish you well with the delivery!

What an adorable and creative idea!
ReplyDeleteThe grape "costume" sounds like a riot too, LOL!
The onesie project kind of reminds me of another one that I heard about a while ago. A bride-to-be requested that her friends and family design a piece of china at one of those "paint it yourself" places; the crazy mismatched pieces became her place settings. :D
What a talented group of ladies, the onesies are all so cute and look very professional.
ReplyDeleteYour sister sounds like a hoot, but as they say; "She who laughs last, laughs loudest". I can scarcely imagine what costume you have in store when her time comes. =D
Big congratulations to you, and I bet you made an adorable pear.
ReplyDeletewhat a fun thing to do at your baby shower!
ReplyDeletebun is a cute nickname. We changed the name depending on her size. In the beginning she was a buggie (like bug) and then she became a sea monkey and in autumn she was big enough that she was fittingly a pumpkin.
So excited for you! Such a wonderful event to anticipate and I hope you soak up every happy moment..believe it or not..the time will fly!
ReplyDeleteI love the onsie idea!
ReplyDeleteYou are further along than I thought. 11 weeks and we'll get to see baby pictures here!
What a FUN idea!!!! Love it! and too funny about the pear outfit!
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
LoL! Okay the pear costume really made me laugh. Your baby shower actually sounds really fun; I have a horror of showers being the last single in a sea of married-with-kids friends.
ReplyDeleteSounds like so much fun! Outfits and all! :)
ReplyDeleteHer fixation on fruit is cracking me up! What are you going to be at your retirement party or your 50th wedding anniversary party? A prune?
ReplyDeleteThose onesies are such a great idea. People gave my bun lots of really cute, dressy outfits that were never worn. Anything that can be barfed on, torn off, and thrown in the washer is the uniform!
Oh how cute idea!! Sounds like you had a great baby shower! Your sister is funny!
ReplyDeletePlease, please post a pic of you as a bartlett pear.
ReplyDeleteThat is what I always tell my sister when she spoils the dude. Someday she will have a kiddo...and then...it's ON!
ReplyDeleteOh no. I want to see that pic of you as Bartlette Pear! :p These little onesies are adorable.. I totally love the idea! Your baby shower sound like so much fun and sweetness. Blessings~

that's so lovely that you had such a cool shower! sounded like a lot of fun :D good luck for you and the little one, i didnt realise you're almost around the same time as me. im due in about 7.5 weeks!
ReplyDeleteWow, someone should definitely hire your sister as a costume designer! :o) Love the onesies, especially the 'sweet pea'!
ReplyDeleteA pear, that is too funny :) I completely understand why those photos will stay private. Time is just soaring. I can't believe you only have 11 more weeks!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. Every single bit. You must be so excited! And that quilt is precious. :)
ReplyDeleteThe onesies are such a fun and clever idea!! The little bun will be here before you know it!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat shower idea with the onesies. I have to say I would already be plotting my revenge on my sister if she made me dress up like a pear.. so be sure to keep those wheels turning!
ReplyDelete11 wks to go :) How exciting. I am sure you are happy to be in your
ReplyDelete3rd trimester :)
Baby showers are so much fun, very exciting event :) T.
That is so sweet, such a great idea, and the blankets look great-
ReplyDeleteand it's true, personal gifts matter, and are kept for years and forever.
Congrats Valerie!!! I love your blog and work and now you'll be a mom. Hope to run into you one of these days!! Cheers, Grace (from eciad)
