blushing tomato


While watering my tomato plant yesterday, I was excited to see that one of the little green fellas is starting to ripen... I lifted up the leaf and it looked like it was blushing to see me... tee-hee. Oh, I can't wait until fresh red tomatoes... impatient me will have to wait for the other dozen to start reddening too (maybe if I stop looking at them, they will redden faster). Also thought I'd post a pic of some fresh peas (from a local farm, not our garden), since they are one of my fave summertime treats. Happy weekend everyone!

    Yours are further along than mine. I look everyday. Waiting.... I love fresh tomatoes. Give me a fresk tomato, a salt shaker and a napkin; and you will see a happy woman! LOL

    So jealous of peas in pods. I have tried to grow them here 3 times and they die every time. I am not sure if it is just too hot or if it is the soil. :( We have loads of tomatoes and I so love them. YUM to fresh homegrown veggies. xoxo

    Wow, those tomatoes are getting ripe FAST! Don't worry, because at that rate they'll be ready very soon. The pea picture is cute too. I can almost smell the fresh, gardeny smell from my computer screen.

    Your tomatoes look lovely,won't be long and you'll be washing, slicing and savoring them. Wish I could say the same for mine. We've had sooo much rain this summer (yeah I know, it is Florida and this is our rainy season) and it hasn't been kind on my vegetable garden. So far the only one that has enjoyed my tomatoes is a pesky little squirrel that eats them while they are still green.
    Anyway, think I'll have to wait for everything to dry out and start all over. sigh !
    Just am thankful I don't have to farm for a living, I'd starve to death. :D

    They both look delicious! We normally pick our tomatoes while they are still green and let them go ripen in the kitchen:)

    I am so upset I didn't do my garden this year. I'm totally kicking myself and I miss the tomatoes most of all. :( Those veggie pics are gorgeous!
