camping labyrinth

This past long weekend, we had our camping adventure at Fintry Provincial Park just outside of Kelowna. And as a sign of the last summer days, we endured scattered rainfall as well as thundershowers and high gusts of wind (oh yes, a tent's best friend). Miraculously, timed like clockwork, it mostly rained during the nights while we were asleep, and while we ventured on our day trips away from the site (we did a bunch of wine and vineyard tours, which I will be posting pics of tomorrow!). Anyhoo, here are a few pics at the site, which was lakeside... there was also a labyrinth at the campground(?) as well some historical buildings (sorry no pics, but hey... can you beat the labyrinth?).

  2. What incredible shots!!!

The beach photo is my favorite. I could have parked myself there in a lawn chair and day dreamed and slept the weekend away!

  9. Love the labyrinth at the camping grounds. I must say for all the girl guide camping trips I've done in the past, there has never been a labyrinth. That's awesome!

  10. That labyrinth is so cool! When I go camping, there's nothing that neat. The trees and grass are normally wild and full of ticks, not benches.

  11. I've heard really great things about the Kelowna area. I'm envious of all the camping you guys have done lately. Just seeing the tent makes me sigh :) The labyrinth is quite strange--I would love to know why it's there. Can't wait to see the vineyards...

  16. I think a lot of people headed out doors this past weekend, including me and my family (http://inspirewireblog.com). It was a miracle getting my husband out of the house!

I'm not sure where you are located, but your photos are lovely. It sounds like you had a wonderful time, aside from the thunderstorm, lol. We had one that was "predicted", but just side-swiped us, still giving us a bit of gust and a chilly night. And, kudos, for sticking it out through the rain :) You must be hardcore campers, lol....
