The official last day of outdoor swimming for us was yesterday - Kitsilano pool is now closed for the season... so now it does feel like summer is officially over... sigh. We managed to get to the pool quite a few times over the season, and I am glad to say we have actually improved at swimming!! I managed to swim the whole length this time non-stop (137 metres/150 yards)... which is big news, if you saw me at the beginning of this season flailing about, gasping for air. ReplyDeleteI'm surprised your pool closes so early! We close them up here at the beginning of Sept usually. Thought because it was warmer there your pools would be open much longer.

ReplyDeleteWow, I wish I had a pool like that near me. What a wonderful backdrop. It's warming up here in Australia now and I can't wait to get back into the pool. I'm running at the moment but when it gets hot, I swim instead and try to get better at it :).
ReplyDeleteSo missing that pool and the beach beside it! :( It is kind of sad at the end of summer when the pool closes but kind of cozy and happy to me when the gorgeous leaves turn colour and look like colourful buntings draping the trees. Off to see your feature. xoxo

ReplyDeleteIt is interesting how pools so often mark the end of Summer. It really goes to show how much people love swimming. I know I was disappointed when I knew I wouldn't be going again this year!
