sleeping with socks

It is official... we have turned on the heat in our apartment and are flicking on the gas fireplace almost every night and morning. I am now sleeping with socks on. Just when I was getting used to the mild autumn days... it's time to break out the scarves and mittens. Unfortunately, or fortunately (depending on your opinion of the white stuff) it has yet to snow here... only crazy deluges of rain and high winds (this is Vancouver for you). There was a short glimmer of sun and sliver of blue sky this morning... it's now gone. Rain, rain, go away.

ps. don't forget to enter my giveaway to win a $20 Cabin + Cub gift certificate... last day to enter is Sunday!

  1. I wish it was that cold here... I have thin Florida blood :) We get to swear scarfs maybe 2 days out of the whole year... well, we get Disney World & NASA nearby, so it's a give & take :)

  3. Stay warm!!! I'm a wuss to the cold. It gets down in the 50s at night where I'm at, and I have the heater on at night already. Not sure I could live elsewhere.

  6. Sock sleeping weather here too. My feet start to get downright claustrophobic in the winter. Seriously, I start thinking I'll go crazy if I can't spend a day in open toed shoes.

  7. hehe whenever I sleep with socks, somehow by morning the socks have inevitably disappeared, and I can never remember having taken them off. Luckily our apartment is warm, but I've started wearing my winter jacket while sitting at my desk at work. My boss laughs at me.

  9. I've been chilly lately too. And we're in TX! I did always like the code more than the heat though. I would love to sit next to the fire. Currently we sit next to the space heaters, one day we'll have a fireplace again! :)

  13. Yep, same here in Portland too! :(

I am tempted to drive back to San Fran right now, only I swore I would never drive over those passes by myself in the snow and rain ever again.

Hope you are having a good day, regards, T. :)

  18. I've been preparing for the cold weather too, even though it's not that cold here yet. I've been a pansy about it though. I enjoy cold weather, but it's always a shock to me at first.

  19. It's been getting cooler here, but definitely not that cool! And I could never sleep with socks, I have to stick my feet out of the covers even, or I suffocate!

  21. It's not that cold in London - it currently just rains all of the time. I think I'd prefer it to be cold...
