yellow surprise

On my daily walk yesterday, I stumbled upon this bright yellow flowering tree/bush... a nice break from the all the surrounding bare trees and grey sky. Not sure what this plant is... my botany identification skills are very minimal to non-existant. Anyone have a clue? Anyways, thought it was a good pick me up for the mid week blahs. ;)

ps. don't forget to enter the January giveaway!

  3. Well - I might see flowers in about 3 months :) You are so lucky to have them most of the year.

  5. Oooooh. Looks like lovely green versions of those seed-pod thingies floating around in the movie Avatar. (I know, I'm officially a dork.)
