cute and mushy

Encountered these on one of our little autumn walks the other day. They looked so perfect, I thought they were fake... yes, yes... that is my urban naiveness showing. (In all fairness, they were near a house that was elaborately decorated for Halloween, so, um yah, that's why I assumed they weren't real). As I walked away, I couldn't help thinking of the Smurfs... falalalalalala...

  2. Wow, I would've thought that first one was fake, too!! I've NEVER even seen a red-topped mushroom in my life. I guess it makes sense that the cartoons had to get that design from somewhere real! lol..

  4. Haven't seen such great Brownie toadstools in a long, long time! Also did not realise that those Brownie toadstools could really be real either! Lovely touch, and my they do show up well against the fall colours! Thanks for showing them, and bringing back memories of being a Girl Guide Commissioner, visiting my Brownies, when we lived in Edmonton during the 1970's and 1980's!

    Hope all is well. Isobel

  6. The colors are very vibrant, I'm not surprised you thought them to be fake. I personally have never seen colorful mushrooms :)

  11. I'll probably spell this incorrectly but they are 'fly agaric' mushrooms aren't they. The hallucinagenic variety? Or Amanita Muscaria which can make you very, very ill.
