collage: woman and bird
Lately there have been an abundant number of cute little bird songs that I have been hearing in our neighborhood. They were probably always there, but I just have been noticing them more now that I work from home and all my windows and doors are open (it's friggin hot here right now!). Unfortunately, I am so horrible at identifying birds by their songs... I have no idea what most of them are.... the only easy one I can pick out is my least favorite - the annoying voices of the crow family who sometimes like to visit at early morning hours (and generally on weekends).
ps. thank you to Xenia for featuring one of my woodburnings in her affordable treats segment on her blog found paper co. today! And thank you to Audrey of Audrey's Country Crafts for giving me a blog award as well. Thanks!
I think there is something happy about the twittering of birds. Love to listen to mocking birds as they go through their repertoire of songs.
ReplyDeletelove your work!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award! Much deserved :)
ReplyDeleteI love that little birdie!
I used to hear a ton of birdsongs back home in Hawaii where I grew up...the birds in Vegas sound much more annoying somehow.
ReplyDeleteCongrats and I love this piece with all its retro goodness! Loving the mockingbirds songs here too. xo
ReplyDeleteWe have a rooster, crows, and a woodpecker in our neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteI love my earplugs. hahaha.
Love the colors in this collage!
I'm not a big fan of birds. The noises that they make are cute though.
ReplyDeleteI can't identify bird sounds either.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, you can never have enough bird things... Now, about that "annoying voice" of the crow....it wasn't me, I swear.
ReplyDeleteI remember sitting outside in the middle of the night after my husband died. Birds don't sing at night, right? They woulds ing to me. Many nights a friend would come and sit with me until 2-3:00AM.
ReplyDeleteI said "Do you nitice anything?" Their reply, "Yes, the birds are singing to you because you are lonely for your husband."
Those little creatures know. We may not always notice them, but they are very aware of us.
The birds I hear early in the morning are my chickens. My roosters are just getting old enought they are starting to try to crow. It is very amusing to hear! Gled most of yours are lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteI love bird songs, but like you, have no idea how to identify a species by it's tweets!
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to ask you- did the giveaway you hosted help draw traffic to your blog?
I got a CD at my local library that's just bird songs - it's totally magic. It makes it really easy to identify them. We've got over 250 bird species here so I gotta get crackin! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a very cute artwork! Love your style!
ReplyDeleteI love listening to the birds too, I have a pair of lovebirds who love to join in.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the extra attention. :)
