theeeyyyy'rrreee heeeeeerrreee!

Finally! After months (and what felt like years) of waiting, some of our tomatoes are ready to eat. This one is #3, #1 and 2 have already been devoured. Of course they are taking it upon themselves to ripen one at a time so we have been enjoying them in salads, since cooking one tomato seems really sad. I am so glad we are not farmers... at the slow rate we're going we would have had to declare our own famine and starve to death. Also threw in a pic of my herb garden, since the oregano seems to be blossoming and the flowers look really cute.

  4. Wow, those look great! There really isn't anything better than homegrown vegetables. I brought home some major loot from my grandpa's house yesterday. I'm going to be cooking some fresh yellow squash with dinner tonight.

Your herb is doing very well. What else do you have besides oregano?

  7. mmm...That tomato looks so good. After seeing the rosemary and oregano too, I think they would be so yummy with the tomato, some black pepper and olive oil. I must be hungry when I start meal planning just from looking at photos. ;)

  13. There is nothing like growing veggies and fruit yourself. I have been watching my poor orange tree suffering from the drought we are having. I think the chances of being able to eat those things are getting more slim every day! ;(

  14. How wonderful for you! The photo is gorgeous.

I have a garden this year after 10 years without one. The bunnies are eating my tomatoes before they get ripe! Guess they need them more than I do.

  18. Fresh summer 'maters what could be tastier ? Your garden does look pretty, I'm envious as I lost all of my tomatoes, a sneaky, pesky little squirrel ran off with what few we had (the little bugger took them while they were still hard and green, chewed the stem right in half and took them to "who knows where"? ) Then those huge lubber grasshoppers (wrote about them once in an older post) ate the rest of the plants...stripped off every leaf and stem, just as efficiently as those great big, gross tomato horned worms do. Yuck, how I detest those things. I wish you all the best of garden blessings, no fungi, no pests, no bugs. Just lots of healthy eats. Anna

  21. We had the same problem with our raspberries, we'd have at most 3-4 ripe enough to eat on any given day, but they were oh so very good while they lasted
