seedy goodness
One of my fave flowers of fall are giant sunflowers... there was one that was growing in front of our condo building, but it has since mysteriously keeled over... (curse the person who killed it!) These ones are from a local farm we visited. My fave thing about these flowers?... eating roasted sunflower seeds... they are so addictive, I could plop myself on the couch and eat them like a bird for hours on end. I am getting peckish just thinking of them right now.
ps. don't forget to enter my October giveaway! It's not sunflower seeds, but still some pretty cute cards. ;)
That's a great photo! I love sunflowers and attempted to grow some, but failed miserably. It was a sad day when I realized that I wouldn't have any.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo! Sunflowers are like big smiles, they always make me feel better :)

ReplyDeletesunflowers are quite amazing...beautiful shot!!
ReplyDeleteHmm, wonder if someone didn't try to "pick" the flower ? Sunflower have one thick stem and don't "pick" very easily, you'd need some sharp pruning shears ! But they are my favorite summer-fall flower too, something about a sunflower bouquet that just is HAPPY ! :)
ReplyDeletethat is a stunning photo! i haven't had roasted sunflower seeds but i'm tempted now
ReplyDeleteI am with you on eating sunflower seeds!
ReplyDeleteI grew them several time before. I found that if they are planted in a shallow container, they grow shorter and yet their flower remains the huge size!
LOVE Sunflowers! In Wyoming they have sunflower fields that go on for miles and miles and they are the prettiest thing you ever did see!

ReplyDeleteAlready entered your givaway, those cards are amazing. I like sunflowers because they are drought resistant enough to grow out here in new mexico :)

ReplyDeleteOne of my closest friends is ESL (English as a Second Language), and while her English is excellent, she understandably relies a little more heavily on product imagery than native speakers.
ReplyDeleteShe was so surprised when the seeds from the package with those pretty yellow flowers on the the front grew to be taller than she was!
