ooey gooey goodness

Yesterday, Roger and I treated ourselves to some ooey gooey cinnamon buns from Solly's, a local Jewish family bakery and deli here in Vancouver. So don't go thinking I ate both of these in the picture (although I easily could have)... we did share the pair. Solly's cinnamon buns are hands down my fave... lots of layers of sticky, sugary, caramelized layers.... mmmmmm... I think I just drooled writing that. They also have an awesome chocolate babka on thier menu too... but I will share that in a future post.... don't want to put everyone in diabetic shock all in one post.

  2. Those look AMAZING!! I haven't found a local bakery in my area where you can buy things like that. I have to settle for the grocery store baked goods, which are nothing compared to what you can get at specialty bakeries.

  3. Oooh those look delicious! And I had pancakes this morning -- I'm going into sugar shock just looking at them!

Yesterday, as I was perusing blogs, my 4 year old granddaughter spotted your squirrel avatar and got all excited and had to "read" your post!! (should have commented then, but she doesn't allow me the time!!)

  6. Mmmmm! I love cinnamon. I've never had those but here Panera does a pretty good cinnamon bagel- I used to enjoy it rather *frequently* when I was pregnant.
    Simple pleasures!

  7. I think I just gained 5 pounds looking at these. I love when they are perfectly swirled and you can unravel them end to end!

  8. The last time I had Solly's cinnamon buns I was pregnant with the Peanut and because I had gestational diabetes was only aloud 1/4 bun :(

Now that you've reminded me I see a trip to Solly's in the future
