last days of summer

Nothing like celebrating the last days of summer by going to the the PNE (the big annual fair they have here in Vancouver). We didn't go on any of the rides this year, since we were carrying the little one with us (who slept through the whole thing, btw), but we did take in the sights and sounds. Oh yes, and the flavours – a bag of the famous mini donuts and half a BBQ chicken and fries.... (and yes, that was just what I ate by myself). I was too full to try the deep fried Mars bars they were selling at one of the booths... will have to wait until next year.

  2. LOL I spent 3 days at a booth at an outdoor craft show. I devored all kinds of "fair style" food!

Today, I need some regular food! LOL

  5. I had to make do with a crepe instead of mini donuts and root beer... next year though... I happily passed on the deep fried butter though I couldn't quite wrap my head around that... Next year you'll be putting your little guy on the carousel and the train ride, those are two of the Peanut's favourites

  6. Carnival food is awesome. We're lucky Denver's got a few county fairs and stock shows throughout the year.

  11. Great photos. How amazing that Baby slept all the way thru, isn't it cool how they can sleep in the noisiest places :)

    Have a great Day, T. :)

  15. I always have to marvel at your photography. You have such a wonderful eye for pictures. I love the one photo with all the stuffed teddies hanging from the ceiling of the carni's booth...it's so bright and cheerful, couldn't help but make me smile.

Next year little Jasper will be ready for a kiddies ride or two and his little eyes will be open wide as saucers over all the attractions and distractions that the fair has to offer. What fun that will be...though it might have a few draw backs; at that age they begin to fight going to sleep, even though they are worn out and in dire need of a nap, they fuss and fight falling asleep for fear that they will miss something.
