new year with a new surprise

Happy New Year! It has been quite a busy and crazy holiday season. I am finally sitting down to post a little update.... and with some exciting news too. Meet the new addition... soon to make an appearance this coming May. You can see the arm waving above the head there... either that or this baby is protesting something... or maybe it is fist pumping (oh, I hope not).

Today is the first day of Year of the Dragon! We're celebrating Chinese New Year and Vietnamese Tet this coming weekend, but I thought I would post now, this being the official first day. Got a little lucky bamboo arrangement – my amateur attempt at feng shui-ing our home... have to try and figure out where the best place for it will be. Anyhoo, Happy New Year and Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Woooohooo... Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful time bringing in 2012! We made a nice dinner at home and then celebrated with some pink bubbly. Jasper even woke up (although not intentionally) to celebrate with us. I am still lounging around in my pyjamas since it is still a public holiday here, since the new year fell on a Sunday... hooray! So off to enjoy my one more day of laziness and lounging before jump starting 2012. :)

Happy 2011! A part of me is still clinging to the idea of the holidays... all the yummy treats, socializing and time off work, but a part of me is also soooooo ready to jump into the new year too. So here it is, my first post of the year... oh, the pressure!.... I was contemplating on listing my New Year's resolutions here, but I am a bit superstitious that doing so will jinx them (yes, I am weird like that)... so instead, you get to enjoy a lovely pic of pretty purple berries instead. Oh, but sharing one resolution, won't hurt.... so here it is: I am bring back my monthly giveaways!!! They sort of went to the wayside after little baby made his appearance, but I am bring them back!!! (Check out the new giveaway coming up this Wednesday!)

we are bookworms

Roger and I love books... we actually gave each other quite a few books over the holidays as gifts (will post some neat ones I got tomorrow!). Which leads me now to one of my new year's resolutions... to try and organize our overflowing book shelves. If I could build a library in the west wing of our home I would, but reality is we live in a 2 bedroom condo... so I think we are going to have to try and get creative with this "organizing" thing.

I hope everyone has a great countdown tonight! I am still in awe that the decade is almost over... yikes! I figure this is one last day (ok, maybe weekend) to indulge in the last of the holiday treats... sorry, Mr. Gingerbread Man, but your time has come.
