hot dog... a winner!

Apologies for the late post! Having little Jasper help me pick a random giveaway winner took longer than I thought. After some multiple attempts of grabbing fistfuls of names, he managed to finally just hand me one. Thanks again to everyone who entered!

The winner of the wiener dog bookmark/bookplate giveaway is: Maegan Morin.... Congrats! Here is her answer to what her have dog breed is: “My favorite kind of dog is Blue Heeler or Australian Cattle Dog. I have had two in my life and they are a special kind of dog because they are so protective but both were the best friend I could ask for and I felt safe when they were around.”

Didn’t win this time around? No worries, there will be another giveaway around the corner, so keep checking back. :)

hot dog... a giveaway!

I love short dogs... ones with little stumpy legs especially... corgis, dachshunds, bull dogs... there is something so darn cute when you see one waddling down the street. So on a related doggy note, I just added a new wiener dog bookplate and bookmark design to my Tiny Cub shop. And yes, there is the option to have name personalization! Check them out here

Also to celebrate this new item, you can enter to win a set (your choice of bookmark or bookplate set)! Enter to win by posting a comment telling me your favourite dog breed and why... do you like poodles with weird haircuts? or maybe pugs and their smooshy faces? or maybe collies in case you fall down a well and need them to get you help?

A random draw will be made at the end of the month on Wednesday (February 29th), so check back to see if you win. Please remember to include some sort of contact info (etsy shop, blog, website, or e.mail address) and please only one entry per person. Good luck!

sweet swag

I have been busy with production for the upcoming Got Craft event coming up in early May, Vancouver's largest indie craft fair. Yesterday, I finished making all my swag. Swag???... you ask? Oh yes, the first 30 people through the door receive a free, yes F-R-E-E, swag bag stuffed with crafty goodies from all 55 vendors. These swag bags are so coveted in fact, past fairs have resulted in line-ups around the block from attendees just wanting to get one! So here is a sneak peek of the swag I am putting into the bags.... bookplates! I have put together little pairs of bookplates for each bag! Hope you can come visit!

and the winner is...

It is a grey wet Monday morning here in Vancouver... blah... but to brighten up today... we have picked the giveaway winner!!! Wow... so many great children's books suggestions... thank you! I will definitely have to check out a a bunch of them to get a good kick start on Bun's library. So many of the titles I remember, but had totally forgot about until now.

Ok, so down to the nitty-gritty. The random draw was done this morning by my husband Roger, from the golden trophy cup. And the winner of the bookplate set is.... Jacqui from Mee a Bee! Hooray! And what are Jacqui's fave children's books?:

"As a girl I adored the Trixie Belden books. For my boys I am slowly gathering the whole set of Roald Dahl books and we are also big fans of The Famous Five. For really little ones you simply must have a beautiful Mother Goose hardcover, I recommend the one illustrated by Rosemary Wells. My First Mother Goose."

Thanks again to everyone who entered the giveaway... there were over 95 entries! Didn't win this time?... no worries... just stay tuned until next month's giveaway in April!

Hooray... spring is officially here! And to celebrate, my March giveaway starts today! One lucky winner this month will win a set of 8 peel-and-stick repostionable bookplates! I am also offering the option to have them customized with any name you would like too! How great would these be nestled in your personal library, or perhaps the library of your wee one, or as a great gift for a bookworm!

Enter to win by posting a comment telling me what your favourite children's book is.... is it classic Winnie the Pooh?... or maybe you were an advanced reader and loved War And Peace?... or maybe you liked Where's Waldo and are still trying to find him to this day. Oh so many great titles to choose from! And yes, if you haven't guessed, I am hoping to get some ideas from all your lovely comments/entries for building little Bun's library... so feel free to list more than one book if you like.... don't be shy!

There will be a random draw from the shiny trophy cup on Monday, March 29th... so check back to see if you won! Please remember to include some sort of contact info (etsy shop, blog, website, or e.mail address) and please only one entry per person. Good luck to everyone!

for the bookworm

In preparation for the nursery, Roger and I have been trying to trim our book collection a little bit here and there... our shelves were getting a bit full, and the thought of the coming baby having to share a room with stacks of non-fiction acting as furniture is less than ideal. I am happy to say we off loaded about three large bags of books this past month... hooray! I now feel a bit of relief, rather than the book separation anxiety I thought I would have!

With all this book organizing taking place, I felt inspired and decided to make some bookplates. So, new in the etsy shop this season are sets of peel-and-stick bookplates featuring Cabin + Cub collage images. Each set comes with 8 different individual bookplates printed with Ultrachrome K3 archival inks on acid free Avery matte sticker paper, all removable and re-positionable (which is a nice bonus for those who, like me, are indecisive of which books to stick them in). I am also offering optional name personalization too!... see them in the shop here.

new bookplate birds

New bookplate designs featuring four different color and bird styles are up in the shop. These were all printed with my print gocco. Hard to see in the photo, but I used pastel and pearly inks... so there is a bit of fancy sheen to the birds.
