home sweet home

Now that the colder (and often times wetter) weather is here, I am finding that we are spending a lot more cosy days indoors. With that as an inspiration, I thought I would create a colorful illustration for our little abode. Check out the new Home Sweet Home 8.5 x 11 print here in my Tiny Cub etsy shop.

office makeover - before and after

As promised, I am finally posting pics of our little office reno. After turning our home office into Bun's nursery, Roger and I had to get a wee bit creative of where to put our office space in our 2 bedroom condo. Solution? We turned our pantry/storage space into an office nook! I am proud to say we did everything ourselves (except the electrical). The tree wall vinyl is from this cute etsy shop from Vancouver (OrqueShaw's Walldecors), and birds are cut by yours truly. You like?

Also, I should mention our little office space was recently featured on Design Sponge too (one of my all time fave blogs)! Woohoo! Check out the feature here.

up on the wall

Some arts fartsy-ness today. Every once in awhile, my hubby Roger trades some of his artwork with other artists from around the world... so, today, I thought I would share one of the newest additions to our home. We received this awesome print (blue one on bottom left) from Don Pendleton, best known for his skateboard designs for Alien Workshop. Oh, I guess I should mention the title... "Death Rattle". We have hung it with some of the other work in our house... bottom right is a silkscreen print from Michael Sieben , and above two are Roger's own photo prints of skate decks. My dream is to have more wall space to display more art... but until then, I think this is a good start.

home sweet home

It feels so good to be home! Our trip to Vietnam was fantastic, but it does feel nice to curl up in our own bed. I am still walking around like a zombie trying to recover from my jet lag and now also trying to get back into the regular groove of things. So hard to get into work mode after a vacation!!! We're still going through all our photos, so in the meantime, I thought I would post a crafty item I bought while on our trip. She was so cute, I couldn't resist.... she is even wearing the traditional Vietnamese dress (ao dai)... I probably should have packed my suitcase a bit better though, since I kind of squished her conical straw hat.
