butterfly plant

I'm so excited it is finally spring! I think my favorite houseplant knows, since it's starting to grow like crazy! (Yes, I am weird... I have a fave plant ... it's my fave since I like how it looks and it hasn't died on me yet). In the day time all the leaves open up towards the light and they look like butterflies, and at night the leaves close back up again. I have a green one too, but he's my second favorite.

Also should mention that one of my collages was featured on Angela Vandenbogaard's blog yesterday... thanks Angela!

I forgot to mention the real name!
It's also called a shamrock plant, but the latin name is oxalis regnellii. It comes in both green as well as the purple color. I notice them selling them a lot around St. Patrick's Day, so you might be able to still find them around!

What kind of plant is that? I must know! I want to open a garden store, so I'm trying to be a plant sponge.

mmm, not weird at all to have a favorite plant, not even weird to name them, I'd only start to worry if you talk to it, and begin to hear it talking back...

no, seriously, liked the photo and hopeful ideas.

Your butterfly plant is beautiful. I, also, have indoor plants in a garden room that was built with the house. I plan on sharing pics of my cactus plants, and my extremely large seleom philadendron plant. It needs to be cut and repotted. It is almost 6 feet in circumference now. Love your blog and pics, too.
