just rosy

Some summer blooms to share today. I saw these pink roses on one of our walks the other day and couldn't resist snapping a shot. Sometimes it's just nice to stop and smell the roses. :)

we're back!

Just wanted to thank everyone for all their well wishes! These past two weeks Roger and I have been nestling in with little Jasper, so I haven't been posting on this 'ol blog lately. I figured a daily post on the lack of sleep we're getting would get a bit redundant... haha. Things are going well though, so I will start up the postings again! Hooray! And because I am a new mom and have gone a little camera crazy... er ok, a lot camera crazy... today's post will be a baby post. I promise not to blog play-by-plays about my little one's daily digestion tales though. So anyhoo, here is a pic of one of our first stroller rides (and FYI, it was actually kind of cloudy and chilly that day here in Vancouver, so the hoodie and blanket were warranted).

it's a boy!

I haven't posted for a little while... but I have some exciting news! Our little Bun has arrived! Welcome to the world little baby Jasper (6.6 lbs), born Saturday, June 5th at 10:58 am... born on his predicted due date too! He is healthy and happy and Roger and I are nestling in with our new little one. Say hello to the world little one!

office makeover - before and after

As promised, I am finally posting pics of our little office reno. After turning our home office into Bun's nursery, Roger and I had to get a wee bit creative of where to put our office space in our 2 bedroom condo. Solution? We turned our pantry/storage space into an office nook! I am proud to say we did everything ourselves (except the electrical). The tree wall vinyl is from this cute etsy shop from Vancouver (OrqueShaw's Walldecors), and birds are cut by yours truly. You like?

Also, I should mention our little office space was recently featured on Design Sponge too (one of my all time fave blogs)! Woohoo! Check out the feature here.

a trip to the tropics - part 2

Ugh... rain and clouds again here today... so time for part 2 pics from our visit to the Bloedel Floral Conservatory the other week for a quick mini trip to the tropics (see part 1 here). They have the strangest plants there... oh, yes, and beautiful ones of course. I can't help snapping pics of the weird ones though. The first one reminds me of a muppet character... every time I look at it, I have an urge to go back and tape googly-eyes to it.... hmmm, but that might be considered a form of vandalism. Anyhoo, happy weekend everyone! We are still in the waiting game for little Bun... (I hear first time babies tend to be late.... hmmmm).

pass the milk, please

Snack time! Nothing better than homemade double chocolate chip cookies from Roger's mom... mmmm. I think I am going to pour myself a nice tall glass of milk now!

nursery tour

As promised, I am posting pics of the finished nursery... finally! What once was our home office, has now been changed into Bun's new room. Instead of going the traditional pastel baby route, we decided to go with a gender-neutral cream and red (persimmon to be exact) combo. Also, the owl theme just sort of happened accidentally... can never have too much owl-y goodness. Oh yes, and of course the room became a perfect place to display some of our Barbapapa collection and Peanuts/Snoopy stuff too. So what happened to our home office? Well... I will post some pics of the new office space we have redone as well.... so those pics are coming soon! Now it's time for the waiting game.... Bun is due June 5th!
