salsa garden

After weeks and weeks of waiting, I am happy to report that our little patio garden has successfully grown some edible delights.... finally! The tomatoes are turning red, our green onions and chives are not too shabby, and we've had a surprising number of chilli peppers too. Mix them together and what do you get?... well, salsa, I guess. Hmmm... now if we only had the foresight to have planted avocados...

They're lovely! I'm waiting for exactly the same things! Only, I've got weeks to go since we planted them quite late due to our cross-country move. Your salsa will be delicious, I'm sure!

Don't home grown Toms. taste the best! I have only had one so far, a little late this year but there are lots of green ones just waiting for some sunshine :)

YAY! for home made Salsa :)

Have a lovely Weekend, T. :)

I think avocados are a tree, but who knows, maybe they've engineered them as a vine ; )

I have a black thumb when it comes to vegetables, so I stick with the bulbs. Your garden, however, looks lovely and well care for... shoot, I bet my butterfly bush is out there in the back yard looking all wilty again...

I'm sure whatever you make from what you reap will be delicious
: )

Salsa garden! I tend to be of the mind that crops come and go but weeds are forever, and thus a garden is not worth the tremendous effort... but perhaps I just haven't met the right kind of garden. Yours looks more my style, and how cute is it to grow the ingredients for salsa?

Depending on where you live, avocados might not be an option. I hear they need a lot of heat, sun or both.

I LOVE homemade salsa, only I eat it too quickly! A jar is gone in minutes! (Sigh) Gee I wish I had a garden...

looks so good - hooray for mini gardens! salsa is a great idea.

there's nothing like picking something you've grown yourself - and eating it. ;-)

I am very happy for you and a bit jealous. A clever creature has stolen all of my tomatoes as the ripen, need to have better protection for next year's garden. :)

Nothing is more exciting then growing ones own veggies. Lovely.

I didn't get around to planting a garden this summer, boo hoo. Think it was just too hot for anything to grow down here in the deep south. You do have a really healthy looking tomato plant and I bet that tomato tastes just as delicious as it looks.

I'd love to plant an avocado tree, they do grow down here in Florida, though we would have to get a local variety. IMO the best avos grow in southern California, their avos have a rich nutty flavor. However the very best California avos can't be shipped as they are just too big for standard packing so they have to be enjoyed locally and Florida is far from being local. :(

Hope the wee one has continued to sleep through several hours at night, letting mummy and daddy get the much deserved rest that they need. :)

I love Salsa straight from the garden! We have tons of tomatoes, but unfortunately our peppers never grew. Oh well... we'll be making tomato sauce instead of salsa. Enjoy!

Very cool - glad to see that your garden is doing well. Ours is about at that stage and soon we will be overwhelmed. Oh well, bring it on!
