two is better than one
With the warm sunny weather finally arriving, it was time to do one of my favourite things... shoe shop! Hmmm... so which ones to get became a bit of a dilemma... would I get the Toms or the Saltwater Sandals? After agonizing on which would result in the most number of cute summer outfit combinations, I came up with the perfect solution. Get them both! Two is always better than one, especially in the shoe department. :)

these boots are made for walking
Shoe shopping is one of my weaknesses. Happily, I get to have double the fun lately since now I get to buy shoes for the wee one too.... hurray! Which leads me to this post ( I could not resist, since these pair of boots are waaaay too cute). Got these from Joe Fresh – Jasper's first pair of rain boots. I am kind of wishing they made these in adult sizes. But maybe it is for the best that they don't... perhaps having matching boots for mom and tot would cause too much future embarrassment for the wee one. :)

fancy new shoes
A shoe posting today, since I do have a bit of a shoe thing. Ahhhh, but not just any old shoes... these are custom ones illustrated by my hubby Roger (Crooked Walker). 440 artists were asked by Society6 to create a one-off customized pair of Vans... and he was one of the lucky 6 artists that were chosen! Too bad the pair that were made are in neither of our shoe sizes. I think wearing these would make the neighbourhood kids very jealous. ;)

shoe fetish

I will admit, I loooove shoes and bags... and now that the pregnancy is over and my feet have finally lost their puffy swollen status, I can finally start wearing all my shoes again! Hooray! To celebrate (since, yes, it is a thing to celebrate when one has to wear the same pair of darn shoes for two months straight) we visited the Museum of Vancouver to take a peek at their new exhibit... which is on shoes, of course! But not just any 'ol shoes... the exhibit is a fashion retrospective on shoes of John Fluevog, Peter Fox and Ken Rice (entitled Fox, Fluevog & Friends). After seeing all the shoes on display, I have a huge hankering for some retail therapy.

crooked walker custom kicks

I admit... I have a huge shoe and bag thing... I have tried to make an effort to transition one pair out of the closet, if a new pair comes in... that doesn't always prove too successful though. So imagine my delight when my husband Roger (aka Crooked Walker) was asked to design artwork for some Pro Keds for Artsprojekt. His mix tape illustrations look pretty sweet gracing these babies, if I do say so myself . The additional cool thing is that you can customize the shoes when you order them (hi top or lo top), including shoelace color, stitching color and eyelet color. Check them out here and here!
