blast from the past

I was cleaning my bookshelf the other day and came across a book full of collages I had done when I was a teen. For an entire year, armed with scissors and a glue stick, I had created collage after collage out of my old stacks of magazines (Sassy magazine ruled!) and scraps and bits from here and there. The result was 194 different collages chock full of 90s pop culture, teen angst and oddities. Looking at it now, I see it as a visual diary of the time. I'm not sure what to do with the book now... perhaps I will keep posting a few collages from it every once and awhile.

I used to love to collage, but I did it when I was much younger, so my collages don't make much sense now.

what a great find, almost like a time capsule of your angst ridden teen psyche. Way cooler than the spiral bound notebooks I ran across filled with pages and pages of why doesn't he like me????? and so and so is such a skank.

Wish I'd been a little cooler in my teendom, But I did read Sassy and still recall a few favourite articles with fondness and misty eyes

Love that collage! I may have to go digging in my parents home for the ones I made in high school and college!
