The promo cards for the big One of a Kind Vancouver show and sale are here, and I was delighted to see that my kraft + vintage paper notebooks are featured smack dab in the middle of the card (between the model in the white sweater and the boy with the balloons). Yes, the pic is tiny, but I am soooooo putting this up on my fridge.
Hmm... then it dawned on me, I have to get cracking on making a whole bunch of notebooks for the show and not leave it until the 11th hour. (I haven't even started making my woodburning inventory yet...eep!) This will be the first large trade/craft fair (as in convention centre large) for me and I am suuuuuper nervous... ok, that is an understatement... I am extremely freaked out. In my nervous panic, I went into a bit of a production frenzy yesterday and started cutting out tons of images for the book covers. I figure if I make stuff gradually over the summer, it will be less daunting and scary. Hope my theory proves true.
Also, another bit of good news, Bess of english muffin, featured some of my woodburnings on her cute blog, the english muffin... thanks Bess!! ;)

awww... If I lived in Vancouver, I'd come visit you. I live on the east side of Canada (Toronto).
Wow, that is wonderful you are featured right there with the promo piece. Great idea to get started now, I tend to leave everything til the last minute and always think I could've done more. :)
Congrats on getting to be the "center of attention"! LOL
You could not have asked for a better spot!
I really need to move closer to Vancouver so I can check out that show!! Ok - maybe not. LOL
congrats on the centre spot of the promo piece! definitely fridge-worthy.
one of a kind is totally huge - and you will be totally amazing too. :-)
Be prepared! I was once featured on a show invitation and people showed up just to see little ole me! So, be very prepared...I had a long line and made $3000 in two days! (back when I made pottery)
You will do great...set small goals like "I will work nonstop for 3 hours each night." You will become a factory.
good luck. I'm sure you'll sell out!!
Wish I was still in Van to join in on the fun!
Good lord, woman.
You are one of the most motivated people I have ever seen, I have total faith that it will all be done in time, I am sure of it.
Congrats on the sweet spot on the card!
Wow, what wonderful news! Congratulations on being featured in a promo piece like that. That's at lest as good as having a news paper write up on you.
It's hard to second guess how much of anything one needs to bring to a show (especially a big one like the Vancouver show). Just do what your gut feelings tell you, if you find there is more demand for an item than you anticipated...well you can always take special orders. ,)
auuugh! i've got my fingers crossed for you. you're sure to make a killing at the OOAK show - i go every year to toronto's!
Good you plan on getting started asap! I have a problem leaving things until the 11th hour... bad habit!
Congrats on the promo spot!
Wish I could come too. You are going to do so wonderful. You so deserve to be the 'center' of attention. Both Don and I love your work. xo
Don't be too nervous, even though it is completely understandable with a show of that magnitude. Your stuff is amazing, and you will do really well.
Eeek, I'm all excited and jumpy just looking at your pile of sweet images and thinking about all the lovely things that will be made from them! Best of luck and congratulations on being such a "central" part of this show! : )
Congrats on your feature;)Yes I can relate to production craziness before a show...I never think I have ade enough...so keep working to the last minute!Good luck for yours;)
Congrats on the feature on that cute promo flyer! Good luck with all the prep! Try not to stress too much. You'll be prepared and you'll have a blast of a time! :)
Good morning!! I have an award for you on my blog. Please come and get it.
Have a great weekend!
I wish there were more things like that here. Pity Vancouver is so far away!
