snowboard withdrawal

Yes, that's right. I am suffering from snowboard withdrawal this year. This is the first year in 12 years that I do not have a snowboard seasons pass.... reason being, of course, the little upcoming Bun. My mother gave me the great advise at the beginning of winter: "don't go snowboarding when you are pregnant... it is too dangerous"... hmm... well, that seems to be stating the obvious... I am surprised she didn't add in tackle football and sword fighting to the list of "don't's" as well. So, alas, I am a little jealous and envious when Roger comes home from his days of boarding and shows me pics like this. Until next year sweet snowy slopes!

Aww! I wish you loads of puffy snow and a mom who will love to babysit for next snowboarding season. (and don't forget no drag racing, rock climbing, luge racing, paintball or hang gliding....) ;) xoxo

ooh, so sorry to hear - but the reward will be great! I had to chuckle at your mom's advise. Kind of like the old, "you'll shoot your eye out kid." :)

Does the Wii have a snowboarding game? That certainly would limit the danger to breaking your tv when the remote flies off your hand. I have the Wii Ski and my boyfriend loves to play with me because I scream when I hit trees.

Luckily only one season...then to think your Bun will learn one day, too. :)

It's tough to sit on the sidelines..I hope you get back to the slopes next year. I haven't been back since bun #1 was in the oven..but we still get our snow in..just snow shoeing now. Oh..and start lining up the baby sitters now! :)

We actually tried to plan our 1st pregnancy around my skiing habit! It kinda worked, kinda didn't - I missed some good spring skiing that year. But it's all worth it now - there's nothing more fun than hitting the slopes w/your kiddos!

Those pictures almost make me have withdrawal toooooo! But, honestly, if I see snow in my sight again anytime soon, I might lose it :)

I tried it once, when I was a teenager - it's fun, like what flying on your feet must be like...until you take out a skier and have a yard sale down the mountain! ouch - concussed and done with high-speed downhill chases.

best to your savvy slope skills come next season - and I have to second "our little love nest" - a great sitter!

best,
tara

sounds like you are far more athletic than I am. Also, do not jump out of a plane or handglide while pregnant. I suggest you stay home and create and eat whatever you want!

The year I found out we were making a Peanut my husband had to change his plans for my christmas present, Instead of a nice chunky block of hours in the dark room with fantastic chemicals and running water rinsing over some fiber based photographs I got an art supply basket... just as nice but I really l really long for time in a darkroom and when you are pregnant that's a no no :(

make sure you get a day all to yourself next year for some boarding better yet make sure you get a bunch of days

Hopefully next year you can get your fill! That would be really hard not to go along especially if my man was out on the slopes without me!

Well, it's only for what remains of this winter...next winter will be a whole new ball game, or rather ski game. And then when the little one gets old enough to start trying out the bunny slopes, that's when the real fun begins. :)

Aw sorry you missed out. I used to snowboard and LOVED it. Gosh I haven't been in a few years now. My husband was surprised I used to go, because he thinks it's one of those thrilling "do the dew" kinds of activities. On the contrary, It really is meditative and calm, for me at least :) All that white, oh all that white. It's heaven.

Wow, that really makes me want to go skiing again (I did the snowboarding thing once... After a bad fall, and a few minutes of not being able to move, I decided that skiing was more for me! Great pictures.
