sweet treat
I headed down to the local bakery yesterday and picked up a few sweet treats - some polvoróns. Made from toasted flour, milk, butter and sugar, they are a lot like shortbread cookies, but a bit more powdery and less greasy. (That is the chocolate one you see there, and yes, it tastes as yummy as it looks!) All the little polvoróns even came wrapped in pretty coloured cellophane... so I had to snap a pic to share. Yummy!

Hummmm...they look so yummy!
Oh, I'm hungry now.
Have not heard about these sweet little delicacies, they look and sound divine. I'll have to check around my bakeries and see if they make such a concoction. Way down south in Dixie somethings don't bake very well in our heat and 99% humidity. :)
Those look awesome, especially because I'm getting kind of tired of Easter chocolate :p
Ok, I am officially starving!
These look yummy!!! And maybe something you can snack on while your reading a certain book? (hint, hint). Yep, you won our giveaway: http://hivingout.blogspot.com/2010/04/documentaries-in-april.html
When you get a chance, email me your address (hivingout@gmail.com) and I'll get the book to you as soon as I can. Congrats! And have a lovely weekend!
Yummy! I've never tried chocolate, but over here they also make that with nuts, even with oreos! I think I'll ask my mom to make a batch for us. :)
Those look wonderful!
Mmmmmmm.....I think I need to make some cookies now!!!!!!
mmm... that made me want to have so many things... (cakes, cookies, color cellophane, cute table cloth...)
I also tagged you for Sunshine blog award. :) Love your blog!
Yum! So stinking homesick today! Even with all the yucky weather there recently...I still think you are one lucky girl to live in the most rockin city ever!
Way to go Vancouver! You all will be much safer ...Driving and being on a phone is just scary.
These little treats you picked up look fantastic!
Those look delish! Do they tell you how many calories are in them? Seems like all of the bakeries around here do that now & I can't bring myself to buy anything because of it. ugh..I suppose it's a good thing, though :)
look yummy, I can feel the pounds coming on me !:)
Now you've got me in the mood for a sweet treat! Guess what? You won something in our Spring Fling giveaway. Come see what it is!
How sweet...these look absolutely devine. Hope you enjoyed :)

Time for Breakfast.
Happy Weekend, T. :)
I love Polvorons! It is a Philippine candy. My grandma used to make it from scratch when I was growing up and it is yummy!
Mmmm yum. :0)
Yum...sounds great, Valerie. :)
The pics make me want to try one! =)
A very nice way to end the week....
on a sweet tooth...ah...
I mean sweet note.
Love shortbread.
Oooh, this look wonderful!
I like the shape on it too. There must be something in the spring air because everyone at work today wanted sweet treats. We were content with trader joes 100 calorie choc bars
I miss polvorón. I have had to quit sugar. Thanks for the photos, almost like tasting.
why am i still awake?! i'm hungry! can i have your cookie? :)
