collage: red balloons
A new collage to share with you today! I remember being very upset as a little kid when I would lose a ballon and see it float away high up in the sky... worst feeling ever. I wish I had a bird friend to bring them back to me. Or, at least if the bird didn't bring them back, it would have been reassuring to know that it was enjoying the newly found balloons.

I really like this! It has great depth!
Aww...reminding me of "Le Ballon rouge"
I love the bird! Beautiful work!
xo
I really like your collage as well. My son made a story up when his balloon floated away about how it took down an airplane, so I could relate to your post.
That's so sweet,
I like the way you kept the background natural, not papered over- it gives it a certain sincerity and innocence.
I love it!
You should have read "balloonia" when you were little. It made me believe that balloons went to live in their own kingdom

great work... and lovely sentiment
Lost balloons are sad for the child (or adult) who lost it and magical for the person who sees it float through the sky.
Adorable collage. :)
that WAS the worst feeling as a kid!
but now as an adult i can appreciate how beautiful and fleeting it is.
(hmm..that sounds like i think sad kids are beautiful. /facepalm :P)
What a sweet design, I've lost a balloon or two in my day.
I cried when I lost balloons too, all the birds just flew away!
Wonderful collage; it IS very upsetting to lose a balloon when you're a child, but this is such a hopeful scene with the bird! Very simple, sweet, and lovely!
Balloons make everything better! We have to get a highly overpriced one for the dude every time we go to Disney World!
Beautiful. I really like this; the father pointing to the bird makes it all seem to tell a story.
I love this- a very sweet picture!
I adore this collage and adore the story behind it :)
Have a lovely weekend my dear!
one of my earliest memories was where my grandparents took me to a fair. I got a balloon and I remember them telling me to hold tight. I don't remember letting it go, but I do remember once we got out to the parking lot crying and my grandma looking at me crying and begging my grandpa to please run back to the fair and buy me another balloon, and he did. This is also one of my only memories of my grandpa because he passed away shortly thereafter.
On a lighter note, there's a comedian who does a joke about kids losing their balloons and adults getting mad at them for "over reacting". He says "you have to put it in perspective. That balloon is all they have in the world. Imagine if your wallet started floating out of your pocket and up into the sky, you'd be freaking out too!"
Wonderful work! I really love this piece.
Hullo....just came across your blog and it is wonderful. Love your work:) Thanks for sharing!
