stampin around

Quite awhile ago (almost two years to be exact), I blogged about my stamp collection (which mainly comprises of an album my mom found in the garbage in a house she was moving into back in 1975). I am finally taking the initiative to do something with them!! Since many of the stamps are quite pretty and quite old (most of them are from 1930s - 60s), I have decided to frame them. So to be a bit more ambitious, I decided to to group them by color... so for now, I will be sorting, sorting and... well... sorting... there is a lot of them... I might be sorting for awhile. I'll update you with more photos, once I get to the layout stage (which, fingers crossed, will be within the month, and not another two years).

ps. don't forget to enter my January giveaway here!

That is quite a collection. Can't wait to see your results from all the sorting.
They would make a beautiful piece of art, framed....with history!

Have a wonderful weekend.

That is a LOT of stamps. What a great idea to frame them so they can be enjoyed without having to get out an album!

Looking forward to seeing the finished project.

Oooh they are so charming! I think stamps are a neat thing to collect. I would say that though, I collect about a billion different things.

For Christmas this year my friend gave me this adorable tin (like the size of an Altoids box) that had been covered in vintage stamps and glazed or decoupaged...I have no clue where she got it, but I LOVE it...

Your photography is awesome, as always !
Stamps are lovely, some of them are like little pictures or works of art. It's easy to see why many people enjoy collecting them. Also, once they're put in an album, they hardly take up any space at all.
Bet your framed stamps will look beautiful, looking forward to seeing the finished project.

We think that sounds like a great project!

We used to collect stamps (admittedly when we were little), but we still have the collection : ) It is funny, how simple but beautiful stamps are - we used to love adding stamps from far off lands we could only dream of - they seemed so exotic!
