ferry go round
Over the weekend, we ventured on the ferry over to Mayne Island for a friend's wedding (congrats Heather and Stefan!). I love taking the ferry on a sunny summer day... there is something very serene about the open air and calm waters. Even though it was only a 2 hour ride, for a few brief moments it felt like we were on a mini cruise (well, minus the buffets, entertainment, spas and shuffle board). Hmmm... I think the warm sea air really got to my head there.

Sounds like fun! I've never been to a single Gulf Island yet, which is terrible. I'm glad you guys had a good ride! And, you know, it IS almost like a cruise... there's entertainment (if you like arcades) and a sort of buffet... you just have to pay each time you eat something. :) U do love ferries too though!
I get sea-sick anywhere, but managed to stay upright when travelling by ferry from Vancouver to Vancouver Island the only time(s) I did it! We used to live in Alberta, but originally emigrated to Victoria. We did the trip to pick up our two young daughters after they'd spent their summer vacation with family members. Good memories (over 20 years ago!)
A two hour ferry ride would be a fun way to relax and get some fresh air... glad you had a great time, and good weather too! ;)
Fun and love the family pic!!
What a lovely adventure.
What wonderful photos of the water with the mountains in the distance. Great shot !
Ferry rides are a lot of fun. I remember one from Seattle to Vancouver Island, well really we went to Victoria, BC to tour the world renowned Butchart Gardens. The ferry ride was exhilarating and the Gardens took my breath away, just stunning !
The water in those photos looks so calm, lovely. Beautiful colours too.
It's beautiful!
First time visiting your pretty blog!
Eva
Those pics are totally gorgeous!
