strawberry fields forever
Wooohoo... strawberries are finally here! This past weekend, we ventured out to the farms on Westham Island, a short ride outside of Vancouver, to pick some fresh strawberries. We managed to fill two extra large ice cream buckets... and I got a bit of nice tan in addition to my berry stained fingers. I was tempted to pick more... but being a horrible guesser of weights and measures, I was a bit paranoid of picking more than the cash we had in hand (yes, I am a bit of a worry wort). After our agricultural adventure, we enjoyed tall cold glasses of strawberry milkshake made at the local farm stand... just writing about this is making me want another one... so please excuse me, while I go and fire up the blender.

YUM - nothing compares to fresh picked strawberries in June.
A fresh strawberry milkshake sounds absolutely delicious!! Now I will be thinking about one until I get to have one myself. :)
I was in Seattle last weekend, and it was berries, berries, everywhere! Looks like you had a good time.
strawberry shakes are my favorite!
I love strawberries, I wish there was someplace around here we could go and pick fresh fruit!
we are so planning a berry picking day, I just made jam from the cherries in our backyard tree and am now feeling very 1950's housewife and I have the pin curls to prove it

I can remember picking strawberries for hours on end! Every now and then one would end up in my mouth :-)
Strawberry milkshakes are quite possibly my favorite thing in the world. Now it's all I can think about. Must. Get. Milkshake.
Fresh strawberry milkshakes....YUMMY! ;)
I just picked up strawberries from Trader Joes and may have to make some of those tonight with frozen yogurt.
We have a huge crop of strawberries on our allotment this year, for some reason I hadn't thought of milkshakes... I'm of to find my blender too!
Thanks also for visiting my blog!
picking strawberries (well, EATING strawberries) is one of my top five favorite summer activities. i must go now!
mhm! strawberries are best on my bday (the 21st) and I had loads of them to test my theory!

Hi, just found your lovely blog after reading hey Harriet one;)It is Strawberry season in Australia too;)
So funny, that's what I went and did today too! We didn't pick too much because I wanted to go back again later in the week. I love going berry picking!
DELISH!!!
PS:
TAG! you're it!
I've been informed that this is a blog award of sorts and it means that you have to come over to my blog, copy the questions and read the rules at the end of the list (of questions), and then answer them on your blog whenever you're good and ready. :)
we took our boys Strawberry picking a few years back - so fun! beautiful taste too!
yay strawberry picking!
i don't think i'll pick this year with my little guy too likely to run amok and then some, but i've been meaning to take a drive out to my fave place and get a big flat for jam and crisp and eating. must do!!! :-)
Oh yum! I recently planted some strawberries and can't wait for them to be ready for picking! I just hope they don't die on me beforehand. Plants have a tendency to do that in my care...
Yay.. sounds like everyone is in a strawberry-riffic mood! I wish I had some recipes to post, but I don't.. usually just eat them fresh or in smoothies and shakes. ;)
that sounds divine, I wish I could be there
I am dying to pick strawberries but it has been pouring here all week! hopefully tomorrow!
Aw man. Now I'm hungry. And living here in Arizona, you can bet I won't be able to go out and pick strawberries. *envy*
