waiting for pesto

So one of the garden-ey things I am trying to grow from seed is basil. I have had little success in the past and I think it's due to my impatience - we tend to eat it faster than it can grow. This little guy on our window sill seems to be doing ok so far... but I think he gets a wee bit nervous every time he knows I'm cooking.

Hahaha. I just started growing basil myself. I had the nerves to shove it outside in 40 degree weather when my aunt said it hates the cold. Somehow it's still living, barely. My oregano, on the other hand, seems to be on steroids.

You'll be so glad that you waited for your little plant to get big enough to give it's best.

Don't feel bad, I've picked my herbs to death too. It's hard to refrain when they are sitting right there, looking all delicious and edible!

I'm no expert, so look this up, but I believe if you put it in a bigger pot it will grow much larger. And then you'll have more to eat. :)

Yum! I love my little herb garden...the oregano and chives are taking over but so far the rosemary & thyme are holding their own. Your plant looks healthy & happy. Enjoy!

We tried this one time at my house but before we got to eat it my cat got to it... very sad that he enjoyed it before I did, so to make up for it I wish your little plant all the best! I'll be sending good plant vibes your way.

It looks good! We've never grown basil from seed, but we have about 6 bushy bail plants on our patio we love to eat from!!

Aww, I LOVE fresh basil, and garlic. Garlic is so easy to grow here. I dry my own basil and it keeps for winter, there's just no comparison to store-bought dried!

Haha, mine always grew faster than I could eat it! My old apartment was *very* sunny. That plant was at least 2-3 feet tall. At least. It was a monster!
