a trip to the tropics

How about a mini trip to the tropics today to escape the Vancouver rain? I thought I would share some photos we took of the per-tty flowers at the Bloedel Floral Conservatory on our last visit. A lot of strange and unusual shaped plants indeed (check out that pink pom pom plant!)... and no, unfortunately I don't remember what most of them are... I am so horrible at plant names... sorry! Will post some more soon (we took lots of pics that day).

ps. don't forget to enter my giveaway!

They look very exotic :)

I love the bright colours and the feathery look :)

Excited to see more, makes me think of sunshine, we could do with some :) T.

Very pretty! I love the flowers at the conservatory here, but it's kept so hot and humid for the flowers that I can't stand to visit :)

I love pom pom flowers. I also see some big purpley blue ones in people's gardens (I don't know the names of those either).

"What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"

The photos are marvelous, the strange purplely, spiky thing looks like it is from another planet. Though it sort of reminds me of a type of tropical bromeliad.

Thanks for taking us on a mini trip to the Floral Conservatory, it was fun. :D
