pumpkin encore

A couple of months ago, we planted a pumpkin seed in a pot, which did fine until I had tried to transplant it to a proper garden plot - my thumb went from green to brown - Mr. Pumpkin plant totally shriveled up and died. So here is our second attempt - Mr. Pumpkin II. A little paranoid at the thought of killing another one, I am letting this one grow a bit larger before I transplant it... but not sure if I let it get too big already (oops)... our quest for an orange homegrown pumpkin continues!

Wish I could send you some of our invasive massive pumpkin plants. We planted white pumpkins this year and they are huge. (I think that they don't like being transplanted though.) xo

I should plant some pumpkins. I planted tomatoes.

Sometimes if you make yor own plantable pot, the moving to a bigger garden spot is easier.

Good luck, we'd like to grow one too but I'm paranoid that my growing skills are more brownish than green. I can hardly wait for halloween this year to carve a pumpkin and light it with the funky green lamp oil I got on vacation. The flame actually burns green and should look creepy cool flickering in a bright orange pumpkin. I hope this one makes the move.

Wow.. I love your gardening stories :) I never knew you can "kill" a plant by transplanting them too young. Best of luck to your 2nd attempt.. do keep me posted on the progress.

That looks great. The same thing always happens to me; when I try to transplant a plant into a larger pot, it dies :(
