Martha!

OK, it has been waaaaay too long since my last blog post. I have no idea where the summer is going! For some reason, I thought it had only been a couple of weeks… and then I saw the date...ack!

On the news front… something big and exciting! One of my wedding cake topper designs is featured on the Martha Stewart Weddings website as part of a cake topper feature. Yes... MARTHA!! Check out the screen shot as well as the link here!

Exciting press news today! I am one of the feature makers on the Brika site this week… hooray! If you aren't familiar with Brika already, it is a very cute site that features a curated selection of handmade goodness and their makers' profiles. Check out my full feature here or better yet, spend some time browsing all the cute goodies from other talented makers. :)

These past few months have been great press wise. I should have posted these sooner, but better late than never! Check out the latest February/March issue of Bust Magazine... you will see a pair of my pear earrings in their fresh and fruity section. Next one down are my tennis cufflinks which graced the page of Chatelaine Magazine's holiday gift guide. Scroll one down, and you will see the anchor cufflinks in the Toronto Life 2013/14 Stylebook... and lastly the stag cufflinks, in UK's Perfect Wedding Magazine. A big thanks to all those publications!

A little bit of press news for show-and-tell today. My little bird cork board is in the new issue of Luri & Wilma (Washington DC's eco-chic e-magazine). This month is the home issue, and it is chock full of super cute green things for you abode. Check out the cute issue here... a good read for the weekend! ;)

calendar girl

I have been working on the new 2012 desk calendar, and thought I would show-and-tell some related news. My 2010 desk calendar was featured in the book Creative Calendar Collection by Basheer Graphic Books... the book just arrived on my door step a few weeks ago. Hooray for unexpected happy mail deliveries! It's arrival, though, reminded me that I have to hustle it up and finish up the new one for 2012... eek! Stay tuned for its reveal next week... I have revamped the format a bit, so it will be even better!

it's in the bag

Some exciting press/show-and-tell news today. My orange bird tote bag design has been featured in the new book The Tote Bag! UK author and designer Jitesh Patel showcases a selection of works from artists and designers from around the world. I have been proudly displaying it on our coffee table these last few weeks... (ummm, no matter that my biggest fan is baby Jasper). Anyhoo, the coolest thing about the book?... it comes wrapped in a tote bag! Take a look at some of the pages or order a copy of the book here!

A little press clipping to share with you today. One of my collage illustrations is in the latest March issue of N.E.E.T Magazine! (that's it right there on page 217). N.E.E.T is a quarterly online magazine that showcases grassroots creativity... everything from tons of fashion, independent designers, to awesome craftiness. Oh yes... and it's free! Check it out here for some awesome articles and lots and lots of eye candy... it will make your fashionista side want to start shopping.

(I am doing my embarrassing happy dance now, so be happy there isn't a video... it does involve the running man and the sprinkler). Some exciting press news today... this time a triple whammy! These past couple of days, I was lucky enough to be featured on three blogs! It's blog fever! I was feeling so lucky and happy, I actually went out and bought a lottery ticket (I know, I know... you are shaking your head... and odds are really teeny tiny and miniscule, but a girl can dream, right?).

First up, the little Cabin + Cub calendar was featured on Design Sponge, one of my fave all time blogs (thanks Grace!). I'm so flattered to see it up there with so many of her other beautiful posts. See the original posting here.

extra, extra, read all about it

First off... a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the US! Gobble Gobble!

Ok, so some press news today.... even though it is on the very bottom right hand corner of the entire article... and you do have to scroll down a whole lot to get to it... alas, one of my items has made it into an Etsy Storque article... woohoo! This is my first time in Storque! Check out the article here.

The way I found about it was through Heart·o·matic (I'm sure most of you have heard of it and use it already)... but if you haven't check it out. With Heart·o·matic, you can type in your etsy store's name and the site will bring up all these stats on your shop, including whether any of your items have recently been featured on different areas of etsy (like the front page). It's a bit addicting like google analytics, but perhaps only if your are into geeky stats like me! :)

Also, some additional exciting press news... the Cabin + Cub Desk Calendar has been featured in Australia's Style Collective (loving the site, btw) in their feature of Etsy 2010 calendars.... check out the article here.

How very exciting! Jan from Poppytalk was nice enough to send over a press clipping the other day from Eigenhuis & Interieur. Sent to her by an artist from Holland, the article lists her wonderful blog (as well as many others), and to my surprise, features two cabin + cub designs!... woohoo! The fawn and swallow designs are from my bookplate and greeting card designs. I think this is a good kick start for me to try and start making official press kits this year :)
