My long list of favorite illustrators include a lot of children's book artists. One of my fave illustrators is Dick Bruna. I have been a fan of his Miffy books, along with his other characters, since being only wee tall. If we are ever in the Netherlands again, we will definitely have to make it a point to venture to the Dick Bruna Huis, a museum of all his art work... it must be amazing! I usually am not a fan of museum gift shops, but I think I could go buck wild in this one.

We love Nijntje! That's her name in the Netherlands (my daughter is 1/2 dutch) and we have like 10 of her books in Dutch. and various merchandise. It's like Elmo over here. Only much better...

I love the simplicity of the artwork and how well it embodies childhood. That would be an awesome museum to visit!
I love Miffy too!!! I used to have loads of Miffy books..... adorable!
I am very familiar with Miffy and Friends. (and the song from the show, which I've heard once or twice.....or more!)
Love Miffy too. I think the song just makes it stick in your head forever.
His work is fantastic...and I agree, I could go wild if let lose in a Dick Bruna gift shop ;)
