Yesterday, we headed out to a Emma-Lea's Farm on Westham Island and had a berry good time (sorry, couldn't resist using a Strawberry Shortcake-ism there). It's the last weekend the u-pick fields are open, so we went crazy and stocked up on raspberries, blackberries and blueberries... yum! Picking went by pretty fast, with only the blackberries proving a bit tricky since they were growing on a downward slope into a canal (of course, murphy's law that the prickliest of fruit bushes lay on a slippery bank next to the muddy waterway full of frogs). Hmmmm... now what to make with all these lovely berries... suggestions?

Raspberry tarts....yum. yum. yum!!!
Or my diehard fave...lightly melt chocolate, drizzle over berries,
and put in fridge on wax paper.
Wait a ridiculously long hour, then eat!
Ohhh those blueberries! You have a productive garden! Our blueberris are new for this season and we have high expectations!!!
I would highly recommend this new fruit salad I found (lavender infused) and the best strawberry froze yogurt ever! Both are on my blog - http://californiablue.tumblr.com. Enjoy those gorgeous berries!
yummy pics!
Yummy! Those are phenomenal pics!
Wonderful photography...do you give lessons ?
I do love summer with its abundant fruits and berries. My fave way with berries is,of course, cold sweet smoothies. Wonderfully refreshing on those sultry, steamy summer afternoons. Now if I had a southern drawl I'd say; "well shuga, let us just sit down a liddle spell and have awselves a nice liddle summah time quencha !"
=D
Did you take all of the photos yourself? They look great! My suggestion is to make some berry cobbler. Omg that sounds SO good right now, with some vanilla ice cream on the side of course. Mmmm.
You and DEB must be having the same thoughts. Great photography.
Berries are awesome! I love them!
How about a berry meringue? That's always a lovely treat. Or choc-berry cupcakes?
Blueberry muffins for sure! Great photos :)
You probably have enough to freeze some. Lay them on a cookie sheet to freeze, then store in a container. I love to blend up berries then put them in popsicle molds for cold pops.
Your pictures are really lovely !!
What fantastic photos, I can almost taste/smell them. Raspberries are my favorite, I see a big old pie in your future (lick lips)!
I love berries and I love your pictures! We have wild blueberries growing on our yard and it's such a treat to find them! I just got 4 quarts of blackberries to make some jam tomorrow :)

Beautiful berries! I love Strawberry Shortcake btw : )
Yummy berries, I love berries! I like simple berries salad with sugar. If not the berry tart is my favourite!
YUM!!! I want to make a smoothie out of those :)
Pie!!! :)
Oooh I am salivating over the berries! Too yummy! Craving them with whipped cream and little pieces of sweet shortbread. (obviously my protein shakes are killing me;) xo
These look delicious and I want some! Berry picking is so much fun...
wow... thanks for all the berry good suggestions ;D
ok.. will post soon one of this things i am making, but more suggestions are always welcome, since we have lots!
ps. yes, those are the pics me and my hubby took... trying out different modes on our cameras
mmmm raspberries! Now I am motivated to take some of mine out of the freezer and make something too!!
Ohhh!!! Fresh blackberries are about my favorite thing in the world. YUM!
mmmmm, you can smoosh them then freeze for a simple sorbet.
Make these popovers (recipe is from my blog):
http://skylarsclips.blogspot.com/2009/08/sunday-dinner-week-4.html
And make some Berry Mix butter to go with it! Just mix room temperature butter with some diced fresh berries, add a little confectioner's sugar to sweeten it up and voila! Instant Berry goodness with yummy Popovers!
Or better yet - send some my way! Yummy!
Great photos!
I'm ready for an afternoon berry smoothie!
Berries are my favorite summer treat. I could eat pie all day, but I love them in salads. and plain...
Oh, plain is the best. yes.
