In preparation for the nursery, Roger and I have been trying to trim our book collection a little bit here and there... our shelves were getting a bit full, and the thought of the coming baby having to share a room with stacks of non-fiction acting as furniture is less than ideal. I am happy to say we off loaded about three large bags of books this past month... hooray! I now feel a bit of relief, rather than the book separation anxiety I thought I would have!
With all this book organizing taking place, I felt inspired and decided to make some bookplates. So, new in the etsy shop this season are sets of peel-and-stick bookplates featuring Cabin + Cub collage images. Each set comes with 8 different individual bookplates printed with Ultrachrome K3 archival inks on acid free Avery matte sticker paper, all removable and re-positionable (which is a nice bonus for those who, like me, are indecisive of which books to stick them in). I am also offering optional name personalization too!... see them in the shop here.

I'm always sad to see a book go, but I always give them away instead of throwing them away, so I like to think that they make it into new, loving hands. And it feels so good to clean out and get rid of clutter! And a crawling baby loves to explore clutter low to the floor.
The book plates are very cute!
Those are great!
lovely new additions to the shop...I agree, it is a difficult thing to clean out a collection of books :), from what I remember from an earlier post, you guys have quite a collection, too!
Aww.. I love book plates! They are so adorable. Although I will end up not using them as I don't really like to stick stuff on my books. :) I will end up keeping them instead. keke
Those book plates look great. It's always sad to put books out but I'm sure they'll find their way into a new loving home and in the meantime you get to enjoy the space you've created. :0)
When I was a kid my mom always put book plates in my books...Your's are wonderful!
Cute addition to your shop!
We downloaded a couple hundred books last year. It was getting out of control. We actually sold them online, postage paid, which was nice! It must be exciting preparing space for the little one :)
These bookplates are great! Your blog is beautiful, I love the simplicity and pops of fun colors and items, and your photos are great!
Best wishes blogging and selling!

The great thing about donating books is that they can then pass on the wonderful pleasure of reading.
I love your cute bookplates and it's great that you made them "removable" so when the book is donated or "passed down" one can easily remove the "This Book Belongs to __________" plaque.
Oh meant to add that I've posted link on my blog that goes to a neat business website and the article is about Small Business Marketing on a Small Budget. I found it really intersting ... certainly interesting enough to post a link to it for others to take advantage of. :)
I love the bookplates! Yoiu always have such cute items!

Love the bookplates, Valerie! They are wonderful!
Awwwwwwwwww, SO adorable!!
These are great! I'm trying to trim down my collection as well. I'll be moving for graduate school this summer and my boyfriend says there's no way he's hauling all of my books. Drat.
Oh how clever moveable book plates :)
Love that you feel relief not anxiety :)
Have a wonderful Monday, regards, T.
Oooo, love those, and congrats on the purge :D
We recently trimmed our book collection down as well. It was easy for me, but my husband is such an (irrational) pack rat that he had to go through the give away pile twice, just to make sure he really DIDN'T need them.
These are awesome!! Such a great idea and so well executed. Great job!
Books are the hardest for me to let go of. It's not so bad when I can give them to someone I know, but still....
The book plates are adorable. I haven't used those in years! Oh, they would be good in Easter baskets!
A lovely new product! BTW..I know T @ PoppyPlace already gave you this, but consider yourself doubly awarded with the Kreativ blog award ~ Cheers to you! Jenni
It is very rare that I keep a book that I have read already I usually give it to someone who hasn't
I only keep the ones I think I might read again :)
We unloaded some books around the time autumn was born also, but I think it was for a different reason. Now she is getting bigger and loves taking the books off of the shelves and putting them back on :) We sold the books to Powell's because we were living in Portland at the time. These cards are really awesome.

These are great! By the way, you should do flashcards too (that's what I thought they were when I first saw the post - I'm sure you'd make fab ones too!)
These may be my favorite of yours!
