hello yellow

Hellllloooooo yellllloooooooo! The sun is shining and there are little yellow blooms appearing here and there around our neighbourhood. This has been a freakishly mild winter here in Vancouver indeed. I guess the snowblower my parents bought after last year's big snowstorm will have to wait an extra year before coming out of the shed and making it's appearance... murphy's law. Anyhoo, I am going to enjoy and bask in this while I can, since it sure beats the regular winter grey skies and rain we normally have here.

Oh yes... and some press to share with you from some cute blogs:
· thanks Cass at kasonad for doing a feature on Cabin + Cub.
· thanks to K. at the rikrakstudio for including my woodburned bird in one of her posts.
· thanks to Gay at I dreamed I saw for including my collage.
· and a thanks to both Dutch Touch Beads for passing on the Kreativ Blogger award and From the High North for passing on the Sunshine Award!

AAAAHHHHH! I can't wait for spring! I am dying of jealousy over your amazing blooms. All we got was one f-ing dandelion, but he was trying to push through in January, too; he's just a little confused. But I did see a robin yesterday, so I'm starting to feel cautiously optimistic :)

Yay for yellow!!! We've had a mild winter here in WA too--we have pretty similar weather patterns so I've heard :) Very pretty photo and cheers to all your much deserved features!

I love yellow, pretty blooms! I am down in Florida so it's never very cold here. It has been colder than usual these past couple months but I am mostly enjoying it, and hot weather will be here too soon!

I'm so jealous, jealous, jealous! We are having (another) snowstorm today. Just when I thought we cleared the driveway of snow, we get hit again. Can't wait to get some of that yellow my way!

So envious. We're expecting another foot of snow next week in North Dakota. but we finally warmed up to the 20s F again, after half a week of -20s F!

Val - you must be sending all that cold artic air down south so that Canada can get some spring weather. LOL
It has been cold down here, and I'm way down south in Dixie...just south of Tampa, Florida...had frost on our lawn this morning, again !
Thanks for the sweet words and well wishes that you posted on my blog. My hubby is feeling much better and is healing well from the surgery.

ooh, it's been one craaaaazy winter down here in South Texas! My poor outdoor plants are totally confused, and the grass has just completely given up.

Beautiful yesterday and today, and hopefully the bright blue skies will continue into the weekend.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Sacramento is a mess this spring, cold, rain, warm...blooms, then rains and knocks it all off..ugh. Gotta catch those rays when they come!!

okay...my heart is definitely back home today...I miss the first peeks of sun, the gorgeous blossoms and the way as soon as it is minor-ly warm, everyone comes out of hiding and seems to have a spring in their step once again
My heart aches to be back in Vancouver again.

I am a bit jealous of your lovely yellow. It is still grey and barren here in Kansas. Lovely photo & thanks for sharing :)

Nice pic. :)

You guys already have blossoms? Man. We're just rejoicing in the first bloom of road side mud (which will probably be buried in snow again several times before anything blossoms) here.
