knives out

We got our knives out and went head to head with the pumpkins... mwahahahaha (that is my evil menacing laugh, btw). We went pretty traditional this year and stuck with the good 'ol classic jack-o-lantern faces... well, with a few twists here and there (I had to add ears and eyelashes on mine). Mmmm... the pumpkin-y smell still lingers. Tonight we'll be roasting the seeds.. still trying to find the right recipe... so if any one has any suggestions, do share!

It was so funny you mentioned that - the first words that entered my mind when I saw the pic were "ears and eyelashes!"

Very cute pumpkins. I like the eyebrows on the tall guy, too!

Haha, I love them. We don't have any good knives so we haven't carved our pumpkins. They are covered with snow right now, anyway.

Your pumpkins look great I love yours,When I was a kid we used to cook & eat the seeds but my fiance refused to let me do it this year he thinks they taste gross.

How fun! I just roasted our seeds last night. Used Olive oil & Garlic salt as a little change up..let me know if you'd like the recipe :)

great jack faces. We've decided that next year we must get at least 3 pumpkins, one just didn't seem like enough this time around

You've done a brilliant job! I am going to get a couple of pumpkins and do a bit of hacking at them tomorrow :)

I'm glad to see you triumphed over the pumpkins. WHEW. Those are some good carvings! Mine always looked lopsided and sloppy.

cute pumpkins! my kids wanted to just paint our pumpkins instead of carving them, so I've yet to roast pumpkin seeds. I found a recipe on Martha Stewart for some sweet and spicy seeds that are very yummy. :)

They are great! What a lovely picture. I am not sure we will be messing with a jack-o-lantern this year, but they sure are fun!

Your pumpkins are great, i have never made a Halloween pumpkin. Being in Australia it is really not much celebrated but is starting to get bigger. Certainly looks like fun and one year i plan on having a Halloween party.
