too early to start decorating?

So I am tempted to start decorating our place for the holidays, but part of me thinks it's still a wee bit early. One of the things I want to get soon are those branches with the little red berries one them (the inedible poisonous ones... I think they call them sparkle berries??)... I keep passing them by when I walk by the florist, and they look too good to pass up. Hmmmm.. maybe I can phase in the decorating slowly over the month... keep the tree at bay for a few more weeks. Anyone start decorating yet?

ps. don't forget to come and visit me at the Toque Art + Craft Fair tonight and Saturday! See details here.

Hey! Driving home last night I was surprised to see so many houses already decorated - I guess it's not too early!

we always decorate the day after Thanksgiving! It's not really that long that the decorations are up, so we like having an early start!

I'm so ready to put up decorations, too! Everything but the tree... I want a real tree this year, so that won't go up until a week or so before Christmas. I like it to last through the New Year.

we have a small child which I use as an excuse to decorate early. we try to spend as little time as possible away from the mall so we aren't holiday fatigued by the time December is one week in so our decorations are just there to get us and the peanut in the holiday mood

I'm waiting another week to get my tree. Otherwise it be completely dead before Christmas. Those berries are awfully enticing though.

I used to put the tree up the Saturday after Thansgiving. Maybe I will do it next week :-)

I know what you mean about decorating early..but all these lovely bloggers that have gotten it all done already have inspired me to start. Just a wee bit though...next week I will work more at it. We get a real tree so can't put those us too early.

most years the tree and decorations go up TODAY - but I love my thanksgiving flower arrangements so much they've taken over every room in the house - decorations will have to wait until thanksgiving flowers are deceased!! love those little red berries too!

it's NEVER too early! we've had our christmas tree up for a week already and our indoor garlands for about two weeks.

(when you think about it, there's so much work that goes into decorating, you need to be able to maximize the time & enjoy it!)

It's not too late. In fact, I would probably decorate in early November if people weren't so uptight about it! I always want to make it look as neat as possible.

I bought a fake version of this yesterday for the pots on my front entryway. :) I usually put up my tree this week-end...the week-end after Thanksgiving...but I don't have the energy yet...I am going to try and myself in the mood for next week-end. :)

I'm sooo tempted to get the decorations out but I think we'll hold off until next weekend. I just love sitting in the sitting room in the dark in the evening with only the Christmas tree lights on.

I always decorate the day after Thanksgiving. But then I've been known to start tearing stuff down on Christmas night, too!

I wanted to do it yesterday but didn't. Then, on the way to pick up my husband from work last night, I saw a house with Christmas lights up and got all warm and fuzzy, so I bet I'll do it this week.

I LOVE to decorate for the holidays personally, and the sooner the better in my opinion! BUT, I am also a "it all comes down on Dec. 26th gal," once Christmas is done, I want it down:)

I hung a wreath today. I will start next weekend. With my kids grown up and with one in California, I end up doing it alone, and it is not as much fun as when they were little!
